AV Alliance News Round-Up | February 2023

In this selection of social media posts we look back on the top news, projects, and updates by our AV Alliance members around the world in the month of February 2023!

Brill AV Media | Warsaw, Poland

Our Polish member company Brill AV Media was responsible for the audio visual production of a conference at the Platinum Lodge of the National Stadium in Warsaw, where the Polish Football Association (PZPN) announced its Women’s Football Strategy in Poland for 2022-2026.

Gearhouse South Africa | Cape Town, Johannesburg & Durban, South Africa

Our South African member company Gearhouse – involving all of its branches and subsidiaries in the country – hosted the Formula E race in Cape Town, supplying staging and AV equipment – including 25 LED screens (by our technology partner ROE Visual), over 500 tons of truss, 7000 seats, over 300 L-Acoustic speakers, and 20 km of fibre cabling. ES:ME | Doha, Qatar

Doha-based AV Alliance member ES:ME Entertainment Services was represented by its CEO Alex Würfel and Senior Lighting Technician George Gilfillan at the Coliseum Summit MENA 2023, a sports business conference held on February 15 in Dubai, where they spoke about venue utilization and the impacts that minor planning adjustments can have on it.

Media Stage | San Juan, Puerto Rico

The team of our Puerto Rican member company Media Stage had quite a busy month in February, delivering AV production for back-to-back events and shows in Tucson AZ, Dallas TX, and Las Vegas, as well as multiple shows in Miami FL. Media Stage gathered their adventures into a blog post, which you can read at the link in the post below:

Among those multiple shows was the Greater Miami Jewish Federation: The Main Event, held at the Loews Miami Beach Hotel, for which Media Stage supplied AV gear. Take a look at some of their photos below:

Habegger AG | Zurich, Switzerland

“Whether it is smart home technology, face recognition or voice assistants — devices using computational intelligence have been around for a while. Right now, there is no avoiding artificial intelligence (AI).” Our Zurich-based member Habegger AG has its own internal AI working group that has been continually exploring new ways to incorporate AI in the live communication domain. Habegger AG recently hosted an evening event for a client from the construction industry. This year’s theme was “Not a Farewell Party”. Based on the client’s concept, Habegger realised the technical and content-related implementation together with the client, delivering creative concept, signage at the venue, animated 360-degree projection, and much more. Spectrum Event Technologies | Istanbul, Izmir & Antalya, Turkey

To support the victims of the catastrophic earthquakes that struck the southern provinces of the country, one of our Turkish member companies, Spectrum Event Technologies teamed up with TETSED (the association of the Turkish Event Technologies Sector) and handed over generators, lights, gasoline and fuel, heaters, hygiene items, food, etc. to those directly involved with supplying the aid to those in need.

Eclipse Global | London, UK

One of our London-based member companies, Eclipse Global took on the full audio visual production of the NDC London 2023 software developers’ conference, which took place at the Queen Elizabeth II Centre in Westminster. Eclipse has been a partner of the NDC (Norwegian Developers Conference) since 2018.

SNL Pro | Mumbai, India

Our Mumbai-based member company Sound & Light Professionals has recently worked on the Live in Concert tour of Indian singer and music producer Arijit Singh, delivering AV production of three of his concerts in Surat, Pune, and finally Chennai on February 4. sld mediatec GmbH | Nuremberg, Germany

Our Nuremberg-based member sld mediatec GmbH was selected as one of the 25 new service partners of NürnbergMesse, and will be supplying media and event technology for the venue starting from July 2023.

Neumann&Müller Veranstaltungstechnik | Stuttgart, Germany

Another German AV Alliance member Neumann&Müller Veranstaltungstechnik will also be one of the new service providers of NürnbergMesse starting this July, taking over the safety-related areas of rope hangings and rigging.

Limelight Veranstaltungstechnik | Munich, Germany

Munich-based AV Alliance member Limelight Veranstaltungstechnik supplied twelve 22,000 projectors for the A.I. Bay 2023, where Bavarian and international AI experts met on 23-24 February in Munich’s Deutsches Museum. Take a look at some of their behind the scenes photos below:

Proshow Audiovisual | Calgary, Canada

One of our Canadian member companies, Proshow Audiovisual supported wealth management and investment advisor Nicola Wealth at their 2023 Strategic Outlook seminar with AV technology, including two 13′ x 24′ projection screens powered by our technology partner Barco‘s UDM-22K projectors.

Proshow also supported the Association for Mineral Exploration for their annual AME Roundup 2023, which hosted around 6,000 geoscientists, prospectors, financiers, investors, suppliers, governments and Indigenous partners at the Vancouver Convention Centre earlier this year. The conference aims for attendees to connect, learn and share the latest tools, technologies and techniques to help make the shift to a low-carbon future.

Smart Choice Audiovisuais | Porto, Portugal

Our Porto-based member Smart Choice Audiovisuais has recently provided video services for Century21‘s Iberia Convention 2023, a real estate market conference focusing on this year’s trends in the sector, which took place at the Casino de Lisboa. Check out their photos of the event below:

Smart Choice also provided audio visual support for a pharmaceutical conference called “Ideas That Change the World” by Bayer at Casa do Gil, Lisbon. Take a look at the photos of the event below:

Novatech Creative Event Technology | Adelaide, Australia

This February our member in Adelaide, Novatech Creative Event Technology supplied AV production, including visuals, lighting and communications for Sydney WorldPride 2023‘s “Live & Proud” opening concert at The Domain. For this event Novatech also used products by our technology partners ROE Visual, disguise, and Elation Professional.

As the summer came to a close on the Southern Hemisphere, Novatech also helped to bring the St Jerome’s Laneway Festival to life in Adelaide’s Bonython Park after a hiatus of 3 years. Take a look at some of the festival’s photos below:

AV Media Events | Prague, Czech Republic

Our Czech member company, AV Media Events spent a week in the mountains this February, delivering LED and full video production for Jizerska 50, a 50-kilometre cross-country ski race that is held every year in the Jizera Mountains, in the Czech Republic. AV Media has been partnered with this event for the 15th year in a row

AV Media Events has recently acquired 4K 3-Chip DLP™ Panasonic PT-RQ25 projectors and are now one of the first AV companies in the world to offer them to their clients. This projector by our technology partner is the lightest and smallest in its class, at the same time boasting a resolution of 3840×2400 px, a laser light source and a light output of 20 thousand lm. As you can see in the photos below, AV Media Events put them to good use right away for blending 6 projectors at an event at Hotel Hilton Prague.
